This is your opportunity for us to show you first-hand the beauty of Seward, Lowell Point, and Resurrection Bay. While making our way to our kayaking location, learn about life in Seward, both past and present, from your driver guide, who will narrate as we make our way through town. As we leave the paved streets of Seward, we’ll travel along the shoreline of Resurrection Bay on the gravel surface of Lowell Road. We’ll view turquoise blue waters and beautiful mountain vistas while we travel comfortably by van to our private beach.
Upon reaching our launch location, you’ll meet your kayaking guides for a quick briefing before heading out onto the water. It’s common to encounter sea otters, harbor seals, bald eagles, and leaping salmon as we kayak. We may stop to take a short walk on the beach along Tonsina Creek to view a salmon spawning stream (active mid-July to early September). This is the perfect trip for those experiencing kayaking for the first time or for those short on time.

What to Bring/Wear
Please arrive to check in dressed and ready for your adventure
- Waterproof jacket and rain pants
- Seward is located in a temperate rainforest, and rain is common. Please plan to be outside, in rain, for an extended period of time.
- Warm, quick-drying wool or synthetic layers
- Please avoid cotton and denim because they become cold when wet
- Warm socks
- Full water bottle
- Sunglasses and/or a ball cap
- Cash or Venmo for guide gratuities
- A general guideline for outdoor professionals is 15 to 20 percent. Guides pool gratuities and divide them fairly.
- Please limit extra belongings
- Each guest may carry one small dry bag while kayaking, and we do not have storage for extra belongings at our launch location.
Itinerary
7:30 am Departure (typically calmer waters, best for families with children under 12 yo)
7:20 AM: Check in at the Adventure Center, 1302 A 4th Avenue
7:30 AM: Begin the narrated drive through Seward to Lowell Point
Approximately 8:00 AM: Arrive at the launch site, meet guides, get outfitted, and complete paddling and safety orientation
8:30 to 8:40 AM: Begin kayaking
11:00 to 11:15 AM: Return to the Adventure Center
11:30 am Departure (often breezy/active, best for adults or kids 12+, those with younger kids should join 7:30 am departure)
11:20 AM: Check in at the Adventure Center, 1302 A 4th Avenue
11:30 AM: Begin the narrated drive through Seward to Lowell Point
Approximately 12:00 PM: Arrive at the launch site, meet guides, get outfitted, and complete paddling and safety orientation
12:30 to 12:40 PM: Begin kayaking
3:00 to 3:15 PM: Return to the Adventure Center
